Message from your Elders
We hope this will be the first of many more monthly messages from your Elders; I would like to thank all of the men who have served as your Elders, both past and present, for their service in assisting our Pastors and serving all of you. As you are reading this, the Holidays are behind us and we are beginning a New Year with hope and great expectations. It reminds me of one New Year’s 2004 when Cheryl and I chose for our resolution to find a new church. Some weeks later we stepped into St Paul for the first time and felt like we were home. As the years have gone by, the feeling is still there and we are grateful and blessed to call St Paul our home.
As we begin a New Year we will continue to serve you and assist our Pastors in different areas of ministry including helping with the Old Testament & Epistle readings. The Gospel reading will continue to be read by our Pastors.
Going forward, the current Elders names and contact information will be listed in the bulletins. I encourage you to give us a call or seek us out before or after church to talk about anything that may be on your heart or any prayer request you may have.
I have a question and challenge for you as we move forward in our church year.
The question: How well do you know your church neighbor? Who is your church neighbor you may be asking? They are those sitting in front and behind you during service.
The challenge: Get to know your church neighbor. Who are they? How is their family? Are they hurting? Do they need prayers? Are they members of our church? Are they visiting? How can you/we help?
We look forward to serving you and assisting our Pastors throughout the coming year. Our meetings are the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the church library and you are welcome to attend the first part of the meeting. If you need to talk to us as a group please let me know so we can add it to the agenda.
