Greetings in Christ Jesus,

Spring is coming. The buds on the trees are starting to swell. The robins are returning, and spring flowers are blooming. Spring is a time of new life. Lent means spring. The Lent Season in the church is to prepare for Easter. The connection may be because the days are getting longer. Lent is a longer period to prepare for the Easter Celebration.

I encourage you to attend the special mid-week Lenten Services this year. For those who prefer not to drive at night, please come at 11:30am for Lenten Soup Devotions. They will begin on Wednesday, March 12th, in the Connect Center. Please join us!!!
This summer Maxine and I celebrate our 50th wedding Anniversary. So this jubilee year we are going to spend some time doing special things. Therefore, we will not host the Senior Saints Luncheons for a while. We thank Pastor Walt and Norma who have agreed to be responsible for the upcoming months.

This month on Friday, March 21, Pastor Walt will introduce a tentative speaker Mr. Allan Edwards, Oregon Public Affairs Officer for the Social Security Administration. Mr. Edwards has been asked to share with us the latest on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the impact of the Affordable Care Act on retired or soon to be retired Americans.

The Senior Saints will meet on Friday, March 21, at 12:00 noon for a brown bag lunch and a dessert potluck. Everyone is asked to bring a dessert plate to share with the others in the group. Beverages will be provided. We will need help cleaning and setting up the room. Those who can help are asked to meet at the Connect Center at 11:15 am.

May your Lenten Season bring a spiritual revival in your life. Take time to reflect on God’s love for you. May you rejoice in His love!

In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Rich
