Senior Saints News
FROM PASTOR KIESSLING…Greetings Everyone,
It is October! That means Reformation, fall colors, Oktoberfest, and cooler weather. Yep it is October. Speaking of Oktoberfest – come to the Senior Saints luncheon on Friday, October 18th at noon for fun, fellowship and something about Martin. You will need to bring your favorite sack lunch. But October desserts and beverages will be provided.
Halloween usually has some references to spooks, evil spirits or the devil. So for our Sunday morning Bible study in October, you can join us in the church basement for a discussion on demon influences in our world. We will deal with exorcism – how to be free from evil spirits. Our resource is the book, I am not afraid. Demon Possessions and Spiritual Warfare, by a LCMS Pastor, Robert Bennett.
Time for a smile:
What’s Your Name, Again?
Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to playing cards a few times a week.
One day when playing cards, one looked at the other and said, “Now don’t get mad at me. I know we’ve been friends a long time, but I just can’t think of your name. I’ve thought and thought, but I can’t remember it. Please tell me what your name is.”
Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared. Finally she said, “How soon do you need to know?”
Have a great October. May God bless you as you live for Him. He gave His life for you! Rejoice and share His love.
In Christ’s love,
