Greetings in Christ Jesus,

Time to celebrate fall – I don’t mean fall down, but the fall season of the year. The fall colors are showing up. I like fall, except it means winter is coming. I don’t like the cool, cold, rainy weather. But, it is what it is. So let’s enjoy the beauty of the fall season.

This month we have a Senior Saints luncheon scheduled for Friday the 18th at noon. Check your Sunday bulletin for more details.

I have a quote to share with you. “Satan tries to limit your praying because he knows your praying will limit him.” – unknown This is a good thought to remember. This is one way to limit the power of Satan in our lives, in the church, and in our home. If you do not have a time set aside for prayer, I urge you to do so. Having a prayer time is an important way to make a difference not only in our lives, but in the lives of others.

If you have trouble praying do as the disciples did. They asked Jesus: “Teach us to pray.” They no doubt grew up praying. But they were moved by how Jesus prayed. Thus they asked for help. You too can ask Jesus: “Teach me to pray.” Then watch how He answers. Please share with me if you have some surprises.

Time for a smile:

A young pastor was sent to a vacant parish to preach a trial sermon. There was some question as to the success of his mission. He was asked if he soothed, moved, and satisfied the congregation. Said the young preacher: “I must have soothed them, for a number of people went to sleep. I believe also that I moved them, for I saw several persons get up and walk out during the sermon. And I must have satisfied them, for when the treasurer handed me a check to cover honorarium and expenses, he told me that I need not return.”

May Jesus bless your walk with Him this October. May He give you straight paths.

In His love,

Pastor Rich
