Greetings in Christ Jesus!

Only a few more days left and summer will officially be over.  Fall is nice, but it is a reminder that winter is coming soon. The older I get the less I like winter.  Winter reminds us of darkness and dreary days.  We all face winter in our lives.  But as disciples of Jesus, we know that summer will come.  We have the hope of eternal life.  We will live forever in a wonderful place that we can’t even imagine.  All of us are on a journey to that day.  Through God’s Amazing Grace in Jesus, we can look forward to living there.

Be sure to come to our end of the summer picnic on Friday, September 21st at noon.  We will be in the grove, weather permitting, otherwise in the Connect Center.  We will have Bingo fun after we eat.  All the food will be provided.  Hope to see you then.

Ready for a Senior Smile?  “Who’s driving?”

Two elderly women were out driving in a large car, and both could barely see over the dashboard.  As they were cruising along they came to an intersection.  The stoplight was red but they just went on through.  The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself, “I must be losing my mind, I swear we just went through a red light.”  After a few more minutes they came to another intersection and the light was red again, and again they went right through.  This time the woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red, but was really concerned that she was mistaken.  She was getting nervous and decided to pay very close attention to the road and the next intersection to see what was going on.  At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was definitely red and they went right through.  She turned to the woman driving and said, “Mildred! Did you know we just ran through three red lights in a row!  You could have killed us!”  Mildred turned to her and said, “Oh, am I driving?”

May God bless you with His love and peace,

Pastor Rich
