I hope you are enjoying your summer.  I am sure it will go by in a hurry.  We get older in a hurry.  Here is something to think about.

“Aging Statistics”

The older population – persons 65 and older – numbered 39.6 million in 2009 (the latest year for which data is available.)  They represent 12.9% of the US population, about one in every eight Americans.  By 2030, there will be about 72.1 million older persons, more than twice their number in 2000.  People 65+ represented 12.4% of the population in the year 2000 but are expected to grow to be 19% of the population by 2030.  Our senior adult ministry is a vital part of our church.  If you have comments or suggestions on how to make it better, please share them with me.  Above all we want to share our Savior, Jesus, with everyone.

Don’t miss the Senior Saints picnic on August 16th in the grove.  All the picnic food will be provided.  Come for fun and fellowship.

Time for senior smiles:

Q – How do you make an egg-roll?        Q – What goes up but never goes down?

A – You push it.                                  A – your age.

Q – What did the baby corn say to the mama corn?

A – Where’s Popcorn?

A few old couples used to get together to talk about life and to have a good time.  One day one of the men, Harry, started talking about this fantastic restaurant he went to the other night with his wife.  “Really?”, one of the men said, what’s it called?  After thinking for a few seconds Harry said, “what are those good smelling flowers called again?”  “Do you mean a rose? The first man questioned.  “Yes, that’s it,” he exclaimed.  Looking over at his wife he said, “Rose, what’s that restaurant we went to the other night?”

No matter what your age, God loves you.  He cares about what is happening in your life.  May God grant you a relaxing and enjoyable summer.  You are in my prayers.

God bless you!
