Let me catch you up on the latest from Outreach!

  • Upcoming Events
    • Mark your calendar! Mission Festival is coming on July 26th after 2nd Service in the Grove. Please bring your favorite side dish (hot or cold), salad or dessert to share. Keep checking the bulletin for updates.
    • Oktoberfest is on September 27th. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors to participate in this wonderful St. Paul institution. More details to come!
  • In talking about the “in-reach” function of Outreach we thought it might be nice if Church members would occassionally invite each other to planned events. Make an announcement after service to tell us about a game your kid is in, or promote the marathon you are in (so we can cheer you on!) This is agreat opportunity for us to get to know each other better or introduce new members to great local traditions.

Want an example? How’s this…the Garstka Family will be located in front of the State Farm office (across from Sherwood Middle School) during the Robin Hood Festival Parade on July 18th. Please join us!

  • Outreach is continuing to read the book by Greg Finke called Joining Jesus on His Mission: How to Be an Everyday Missionary about to help in spreading the spirit of evangilism. We invite you all to join us in this. The book is available on Amazon in both paper and Kindle formats.
    • The Lutheran Hour Ministries Regional Outreach Conference in Seattle is being held September 25th & 26th. This conference will focus on preventing the “decline of the church” and helping the younger generations connect and be influential followers of Christ.

The Board of Outreach meets the second Thursday of every month at 6:30pm in the Church library.  We invite you to join us!  Of if you can’t make it, please reach out to an Outreach member with any thoughts or needs you may have.  Your board members are: Jennifer Gatke, Walt Meinhart, Tiffany Piscitelli, Larita Pedersen, Crissy Garstka, Karen Shipman and Pastor Don.  All are welcome to join us, help in upcoming events and share there thoughts.  Blessings from Outreach!
