A Note from Pastor Rich Summer 2019

by Jill Richard

Greetings in Christ Jesus Summer has officially arrived, but today it does not feel like it.  I like it warm.  But as the temperatures get warmer, remember to stay hydrated.  As we age, thirst signals decline and older folks become under hydrated, thereby risk falling.  Balance can be shaky in the morning due to under […]

Are you ready (to die thus to live) and armed (with the Word of God)? Now that I have your attention – please also keep in mind that your tithing may continue while you are on vacation. St Paul Lutheran Church & Preschool has employed Simply Giving for over 10 years. It is an automated […]

A Note from Pastor Don – Summer 2019

by Jill Richard

Greetings from Camp Lutherwood…  A thunderstorm has developed over Eugene and the rain is pouring hard. I’m stranded in the main tent, unable to make it to my cabin without getting drenched. The kids are safe in their cabins working on crafts—a perfect time for that. Having lost their main lodge and about 80 percent […]

Declaring & Teaching – Jesus is Lord! Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your […]

TREASURER’S NOTES – JUNE 2019

by Jill Richard

Yes, we are making one change:  The weekly bulletin will only mention our financial need of $6000 per week occasionally. You have spoken. But you have also read the truth. In omitting the phrase from our weekly bulletin notice, we want to demonstrate how truly warm and welcoming St Paul Lutheran Church and preschool. Besides […]

A note from Pastor Don June 2019

by Jill Richard

For a number of months, a pastor, the Reverend Edward Doering, in Illinois, has been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to go to Oregon and to gather the scattered Lutherans in that state into congregations. But there never has been any financial possibility. Now, however, we are happy to report that a number of congregations in and near Chicago have raised enough money at a mission festival. In a few weeks, praise God, the missionary will depart for Oregon, to preach the Gospel of his Savior to his fellow Lutherans there. (from “God Opens Doors” page 15)
