It’s hard to believe we’ve finished one month of school already. The children have been busy learning their schedules and figuring out the routine.

This summer we challenged the children to read 5,000 pages and they overwhelmed us by reading over 19,000 pages, so on Sept. 21 the students sprayed the teachers with whip cream and covered us with sprinkles. Then they got to enjoy some real ice cream sundaes.

The Kindergarten and 3, 4, and 5th grade classes took a trip to the apple orchard. We all got to say “cheese” as we had our class pictures taken.

3, 4 and 5th graders are raising mealworms. When they got them they did experiments to see whether the worms preferred black or white paper, which cereal they went to, and each child made a home for their worm. I never did hear the answer to which cereal they preferred.

The preschoolers were out enjoying their Teddy Bear picnics in the grove, thankfully the weather cooperated with us.
