Happy Fall, St. Paul Families!
The rain is back with a vengeance, isn’t it!
Thanks to all who volunteered for Oktoberfest.  PTO raised $153 for the Church Youth Gathering.  The leftover baked goods were taken to Cedar Creek Assisted Living Center and enjoyed by all.
The 2012 Jog-a-Thon was a tremendous success!  A big thanks to our Event Leader, Jenn Hoekema!  This was one of our largest turnout of volunteers, and we all appreciate all of your help!  There was over $6,000 raised by the students, so all their hard work paid off!  The first ever Jog-a-Thon Prize Store was a huge hit and will surely return next year.  And Congratulations to the top earner, Claire Shipman, who will get to be Principal for the day!
Keep bringing in your Box Tops, and your Labels for Education.  They can be dropped off at the office, or given to your child’s teacher. There will be drop boxes in the classrooms soon.  Our teachers were able to order a bunch of new P.E. equipment thanks to all the Labels for Education that were turned in previously.   There are music Cd’s, art supplies, and other fun things for the kids still on the list– clip away!  The Box Tops deadline is November 1st, so get your labels in by Halloween!  The next deadline will be in the spring.
You can visit http://www.labelsforeducation.com/earn-points/participating-products for a list of Labels for Education products, andhttp://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/Brands.aspx for a list of Box Tops products.   You can also register your Safeway, Albertsons, or Fred Meyer cards for more school rewards at http://www.elabelsforeducation.com.
We are implementing Room Parents for each of the classrooms.  The goal is to improve communication even further between PTO, the teachers, and the parents.  This is a new role for all involved, but PTO and the teachers are excited. I am still looking for a room parent(s) in Kindergarten, 1st Grade and Mrs. Jones’ 3’s.
The school Auction is Saturday, March 9th, 2013. This is the school’s largest fundraiser and lots of help is needed to make this event a success!  There will be a planning meeting this Wednesday, October 17th at 6:30pm in the Church Basement.  New ideas and new faces are welcome!   There will be treats so come on out.
