Time in the art studio means time for exploring the wide variety of materials, time for imaginative creations and time just to tinker and experiment.   Students engage in both self-directed projects, such as when they build and create with recyclable materials; and in art instruction, when they learn about different artists, learn to mix colors, and learn to use different types of paints, clay and other art materials.  We do group as well as individual projects and we focus on process over product. The learning journey and all its wonderful experiences are more important than the end result.  No student’s art work looks quite like another’s. Rather, each child is given opportunity to put his or her own ideas and personality into each creation.
